World Fantasy Awards 2026: Complete list of winners
Every November since 1975, the World Fantasy Convention has celebrated the year’s most imaginative and accomplished fantasy literature across multiple categories—from sprawling novels to luminous short stories. The 2026 World Fantasy Awards will continue this tradition, honoring excellence in fantasy fiction when the announcement arrives this November. Last year’s winners, including Robert Jackson Bennett’s The Tainted Cup and Maura McHugh’s “Raptor,” set a high bar for the awards’ ability to recognize both epic scope and intimate, finely-crafted storytelling.
The World Fantasy Awards matter because they’ve long served as a bellwether for the genre’s artistic direction, celebrating works that push fantasy’s boundaries in form and vision. Whether a debut or an established name, winners here tend to spark broader conversations about where fantasy is heading and what readers should be paying attention to.
